Four State Symphonic Winds Concerto Competition Information
Eligibility: All players of standard band instruments currently enrolled in Grade 8 through Grade 12
Repertoire: Concerto (or like) with band accompaniment
One concerto movement -OR- stand alone piece not to exceed 8 minutes
The repertoire MUST be available for purchase as a band accompaniment

Competition Procedure/Adjudication
Entrants must:
Logistics
All entrants will submit their performance via video for the first round.
The first round will be evaluated by a panel of players from within the FSSW
Up to 3 finalists will be chosen to compete in the finals, which will be a live performance for the panel on a date in May to be determined
One winner will be chosen, with the rest receiving honorable mention status
If for some reason one of the winners is unable to perform, one of the honorable mention students may be invited to perform in their slot if deemed appropriate
The finals are closed (no audience)
No contact with the judges is permitted during the competition

- Perform with a piano accompanist (arranging for their own accompanist) for both the video submission round and the final round
- Provide 3 copies of the music for the judges (photocopies only/music will not be returned)
