Four State Symphonic Winds Solo Competition Information
Eligibility: All players of standard band instruments. Both high school students and local adult instrumentalists will be considered.
Repertoire: Concerto (or like) with band accompaniment
One concerto movement -OR- stand alone piece not to exceed 8 minutes
The winner is responsible for purchasing or renting the band accompaniment to be used in the performance.


Registration/Logistics
Please complete the form below and submit with your video recording no later than: March 13th, 2026

Competition Procedure/Adjudication
Entrants must:
  • Complete the form below
  • Perform with a piano accompanist (arranging for their own accompanist) for their video
  • Provide a PDF the music for the judges
  • Submit their video using a YouTube link (Can be a Private Video)
The competition will be evaluated by a panel of players from within the FSSW
Failure to comply with the above will result in disqualification


Award
1-3 Winners will be selected to perform with the FSSW.
